Kent Island Resort is seeking a Facilities Manager to join our team of hospitality professionals. As part of the management team our Resort Facilities Manager will lead by example to maintain the unique beauty of the resort and all maintenance aspects of the property. The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall upkeep and conservation of the resort ensuring maintenance needs across all departments are met in a timely and seamless manner. This role requires leadership skills and management experience someone who can motivate and command excellence from our staff in a way that encourages a collaborative and client-service-driven environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Promote and portray the VIVÂMEE Values
- Assist with training motivation and evaluation of maintenance staff members
- Ensure fulfillment of preventative maintenance program to specific brand standards
- Inspect guest rooms after preventative maintenance. Review any problems with relevant departments and recheck the room/suite before releasing it to Housekeeping/Front Office
- Maintain a current inventory of all supplies
- Maintain a work order assignment program for completed and pending work orders
- Prioritize and complete work orders in a timely manner
- Communicate to the party/department upon completion of tasks
- Repair HVAC as required; and clean HVAC coils semi-annually or as required
- Repair appliances as required
- Ensure routine preventive maintenance on equipment is done including but not limited to laundry equipment heating and air condition units ice machines fire extinguishers fire/smoke alarms lawn sprinklers fire equipment and plumbing in accordance with warranty specifications
- Maintain the hotel grounds; curb appeal and building exteriors consistently
- Develop and sustain maintenance department programs to ensure quality control is met
- Coordinate with other departments to fulfill guest special requests
- Assist the General Manager in resolving engineering guest concerns
- Educate and lead department personnel on emergency procedures key control safety and life safety precautions
- Communicate necessary information to all departments through all forms of communications including logs department meetings coaching and counseling
- Communicate all changes in suite/room status with the Front Desk and Housekeeping
- Ensure VIVAMEE values are apparent and implemented in all team and customer interactions
- Know understand and adhere to company-established policies and procedures
- Other tasks as required by the management
Qualified Candidates Must Have:
- 2 years of experience working as a maintenance technician or relevant background
- Experience working in a maintenance capacity in a hotel or relevant hospitality background preferred
- Basic knowledge of HVAC carpentry and electrical systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions/changes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible schedule and ability to work nights and weekends
- Ability to effectively interact with different personality types
- Construction/electrical/plumbing certifications is a plus but not required
