The school is seeking a reliable organised and scientifically skilled Science Technician to support Biology Chemistry and Physics lessons.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing practical materials and equipment for KS3KS5 science lessons
Setting up and dismantling apparatus for experiments and demonstrations
Maintaining chemical stores equipment and laboratory tools
Ensuring safe handling storage and disposal of chemicals
Maintaining accurate inventories ordering stock and checking deliveries
Assisting teachers and supporting students during practical activities
Managing laboratory cleanliness organisation and risk assessments
Calibrating cleaning and repairing equipment where appropriate
Monitoring safety procedures in line with CLEAPSS and COSHH
Supporting enrichment activities such as STEM clubs science fairs and competitions
This role requires strong attention to detail scientific understanding and excellent organisational skills.
Experience as a Science Technician or lab-based scientific work
Good knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment
Understanding of health & safety COSHH and risk assessments
Ability to work efficiently calmly and responsibly
Strong teamwork communication and time management skills
A science qualification (GCSE/A Level/Degree) is desirable
