Role Information

The school is seeking a meticulous and proactive Exams Officer to oversee the full examinations process.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing all internal and external examinations (GCSE A Level vocational)

  • Registering candidates submitting entries and liaising with exam boards

  • Creating detailed exam timetables and seating plans

  • Training coordinating and managing a team of invigilators

  • Ensuring JCQ compliance and up-to-date safeguarding expectations

  • Managing secure storage of papers and controlled assessments

  • Overseeing results day post-results services and communications to parents

  • Preparing reports for SLT governors and data teams

  • Working closely with SENCO to coordinate Access Arrangements

  • Managing exam logistics including rooming equipment invigilator rotas and contingency planning

This is a crucial operational role requiring accuracy organisation and reliability.

Requirements

  • Experience as an Exams Officer or in an administrative role with high compliance

  • Strong understanding of JCQ regulations (training will be provided if needed)

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills

  • Strong IT skills including Excel and MIS systems

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage strict deadlines

  • High levels of confidentiality and safeguarding awareness
