Job Summary

Estimator / Project Manager

Location: Gastonia NC

Our client has an opening for an Estimator / Project Manager. The ideal candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD and have experience with metal thicknesses tolerances and metal fabrication processes. This role is responsible for quoting projects performing material take-offs estimating labor and coordinating closely with customers and shop personnel.

Essential Responsibilities

Evaluate scope of work and RFQs from customers and determine suitability for the company
Read and analyze CAD files and prints to determine the best fabrication methods and ensure manufacturability
Proficient in AutoCAD or SolidWorks
Prepare material take-offs based on customer files samples or sketches
Source and price materials and subcontracted work as needed to prepare accurate estimates
Assign machine time and labor man-hours for job processing
Prepare orders for release to the shop and coordinate with the shop foreman to address questions and track order status
Manage extras change orders and update estimates and orders as required
