We are seeking a Risk and Quality Specialist with excellent communication skills to strengthen WAPHAs organisational capability in risk management quality assurance and continuous improvement.

This role plays a key part in embedding contemporary risk and quality practices into everyday operations building risk literacy across the organisation and supporting teams to make informed confident decisions. Acting as a connector between strategy operations and governance the role ensures risk and quality considerations are aligned with organisational priorities.

The role also leads and maintains WAPHAs QIC Health and Community Services Standards accreditation ensuring ongoing compliance and continuous readiness.

  • Location: WAPHA Head Office Level 2 1 Hood Street Subiaco (Hybrid Role)
  • Employment Type: Maximum term contract for 2 years
  • Salary: Band 5 ($110k-$120k Plus 12% Superannuation & Salary Packaging)

Keytasks and responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance WAPHAs risk management framework in line with ISO 31000 and PHN program requirements
  • Manage organisational risk registers notifiable incidents compliance reporting legal obligations and conflict of interest processes
  • Prepare high quality risk and quality reports for Executive leadership governance committees and the Board
  • Lead and coordinate QIC Health and Community Services Standards accreditation including audits and evidence management
  • Monitor compliance with contractual regulatory accreditation and internal policy requirements
  • Analyse quality data and trends to identify improvement opportunities
  • Develop review and embed risk and quality policies procedures and frameworks
  • Design and deliver engaging training workshops and resources to build organisational risk and quality capability
  • Partner with teams to integrate risk and quality thinking into planning projects and decision making

About you

To be considered for this role candidates must meet the following selection criteria:

Essential experience and education

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in risk quality governance business or health administration or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience applying risk management frameworks and quality assurance practices
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing risk compliance and assurance systems and processes
  • Advanced communication skills with the ability to design and deliver training and translate complex or technical concepts into accessible engaging information for diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to interpret data assess risks and produce clear insightful reports.
  • Proven ability to engage stakeholders work collaboratively and influence without formal authority
  • High level of organisational skills attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment

Preferred knowledge and skills

  • Knowledge of governance assurance and Board or committee reporting
  • Experience implementing organisational frameworks or supporting change initiatives
