Overview: The North America Toll Production Engineer leverages strong technical expertise to enable continued business growth and ensure the agility required to meet the demands of a dynamic market. This role provides technical and quality support to our external toll manufacturing partners with a focus on manufacturing operations quality investigations continuous improvement sustainability initiatives new product introductions product site transfers and overall process optimization. The position also plays a key role in promoting and reinforcing FMCs safety culture in all daily activities. Working collaboratively with our external partners as well as internal teams including Technology Operations Planning Logistics R&D Quality Safety and Regulatory.

The North America Toll Production Engineer is a hybrid position based in Philadelphia PA and reports to the North America Tolling Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary technical resource between FMC and external sites to support day-to-day manufacturing operations troubleshooting and process optimization
  • Monitor analyze and trend quality performance to identify emerging risks drive proactive improvements and ensure ongoing process capability
  • Lead and support quality investigations root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety quality reliability and cost performance
  • Lead product transfers between sites ensuring seamless qualification and product commercialization
  • Develop and execute rework plans for off spec ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements
  • Develop update and maintain technical transfer documentation to support site qualifications product introductions or recipe/process changes
  • Promote and reinforce FMCs safety culture across external sites
  • Support the Responsible Care and Sustainability initiatives across external sites

Education:

  • BS in Chemical Engineering Industrial Engineering or related field required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in chemical or related field operation
  • 3-5 years of experience in a chemical operations environment preferred
  • Six Sigma certification preferred

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to personal safety and safety leadership
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate technical and non-technical information with global internal and external partners
  • The ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with individuals at all levels of the company including client representatives and subcontractors
  • Working knowledge of equipment design scale-up procedures troubleshooting project management skills and change management experience
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office knowledge (expert level Excel) Minitab or other statistical tools (a plus) and SAP knowledge (preferred).
  • Collaborate effectively across interdisciplinary teams with an operating style that fosters open dialogue creates a strong sense of team inspires and motivates others to achieve project goals
  • Experience applying data-based decision making and strong results driven/action orientated approach to leadership
  • Knowledge of quality assurance programs or statistical quality control a plus
  • Root cause analysis process hazard analysis and chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
