QHSE Engineer

Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented QHSE Engineer to support and manage Quality Health & Safety and Environmental activities across the site. This role will ensure compliance with legal requirements maintain robust management systems and drive a positive safety and quality culture throughout the organisation.

QHSE Engineer Core Duties

  • Maintain and enhance the organisations QHSE management systems ensuring alignment with legal standards and relevant ISO frameworks

  • Ensure the site meets all health safety and environmental legislative requirements

  • Conduct risk assessments site inspections audits and investigations following incidents or near misses

  • Support continuous improvement and quality assurance initiatives across production

  • Prepare update and control QHSE documentation policies and records

  • Deliver safety-related training inductions and toolbox talks to staff

  • Act as a point of contact for QHSE matters liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders

  • Track QHSE performance metrics analyse trends and present reports to senior leadership

Essential Criteria

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) or IOSH Managing Safely (or higher)

  • Proven experience in a QHSE HSE or Quality Engineer position within a manufacturing setting

  • Solid understanding of UK health & safety and environmental legislation

  • Experience with ISO management systems (ISO 9001 essential; ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 advantageous)

  • Strong communication organisational and problem-solving skills
