As a FPGA engineer you will join our team in London to support our activities within the Space sector.
You will support the design and development of digital hardware and embedded software for high-reliability electronic systems. Working within a structured engineering environment you will contribute to FPGA development low-level embedded software and hardware integration activities across the full development lifecycle
- Location: London
- On Site: Hybrid 4 times a week
- Clearance: Clearable
- Experience Level: Mid- Level
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and verify FPGA solutions using VHDL
- Support embedded software development in C and assembler for hardware-level applications
- Contribute to board bring-up hardware debugging and integration activities
- Produce design documentation in line with programme standards
- Support verification simulation and validation activities
- Collaborate with systems electronics and test teams to ensure robust implementation
Qualifications :
Required Skills:
- Strong experience in FPGA design using VHDL
- Experience developing embedded software in C and/or assembler
- Understanding of digital electronics and hardware/software integration
- Experience working within structured engineering development environments
- Ability to interpret hardware schematics and technical documentation
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience.
- Experience within aerospace defence or other safety-critical industries
Desirable Skills:
- Experience within space or satellite programmes
- Familiarity with safety-critical standards (e.g. DO-254 DO-178)
- Experience with simulation and verification tools (e.g. ModelSim Vivado Quartus)
- Experience supporting hardware testing and integration campaigns
- Knowledge of high-reliability or radiation-tolerant design practices
