The University continues to uphold its mission of enhancing the quality of life and preserving protecting and interpreting First Nations peoples history language culture and artistic is a unique learning place specializing in Indigenous knowledge and providing post-secondary education for Indigenous and non-Indigenous students within a culturally supportive First Nations University of Canada is a federated college of the University of Regina and its academic programs are accredited through that values include wisdom respect humility sharing harmony beauty strength and to the Director of Student Success Services the Manager of the Career Centre and Work Integrated Learning (CCWIL) will provide strategic and operational leadership for the planning promotion enhancement and development of the Career Centres programs and services. The Manager will lead the expansion of quality experiential learning and career education opportunities into the student experience and will help facilitate a seamless transition from the university experience to the workforce for students and will connect Indigenous students with essential career development tools education and programming in a way that is aligned with Indigenous teachings and values. The Manager is accountable to lead the CCWIL team guide their work and engage them in developing and achieving a shared vision that will play a critical role in the CCWIL commitment to excellence and growth. The Manager will be a distinguished leader with a record of excellence in innovation business acumen and an ability to motivate and support other team members in these : Establish execute and oversee multi-year divisional strategic and operational plans based on needs of Stakeholders First Nation communities and Industry the development of Career Centre business plans and/or proposals which will form the foundation for maximizing growth opportunities with all levels of government. Provide leadership to all the CCWIL team through a clear strategic vision and support of that vision through all activities and project the Career Centre and Work Integrated Learning Centre staff effectively through recruitment selection training organization of functions establishment of procedures and standards monitoring of performance and focusing on staff efforts and university goals including scheduling and prioritizing of staff workloads and developing mentoring and coaching and evaluate progress and outcomes of the center operational plans. Develop policies and practices and ensure compliance for placements internships co-op and other experiential learning and monitor annual budgets by developing reviewing and maintaining budgets and ensure resources are allocated in accordance with department operating with the University Executive in negotiating funding arrangements with stakeholders government departments and funding agencies and private industry with the University Executive to seek write and present or submit grant proposals to obtain funds that support ongoing programming and development of new projects for CCWIL. Provide co-op career and experiential education services that meet the current and emerging needs of the University community including employers students alumni and cross-cultural frameworks embedded in Indigenous ways of knowing being and doing to strengthen pathways from the university to the workforce inspiring welcoming spaces within the organizations that the students step into. Develop and maintain strong connections with First Nation communities employers Tribal Councils and other stakeholders in order to enhance the CCWIL reputation and increase partner involvement and sponsorship to meet client needs Provide wrap around services for both the employers and students to support career growth for alumni or current FNUniv students. Qualifications:Applicants must have a Bachelors degree with a specific focus on career development. Five or more years of experience in career development or the Skills and Abilities requiredResults driven with a high level of energy enthusiasm and dedication; demonstrated exceptional relationship building skills. Proven integrity ethics diplomacy and tact Ability to manage and prioritize several projects simultaneously with the proven ability to meet deadlines and take on challenges. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Professional (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint)Ability to act decisively and to exercise a high degree of diplomacy confidentiality initiative and judgement.
