Who Were Looking For:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education and or experience equivalent to a Bachelor degree
  • Prior experience managing a data system in a school/district setting (preferred)
  • Programming experience including SQL C# report writing tools and other data integration techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team
  • Excellent organizational written communication and problem solving skills

About the Role:

The Director of Student Information Systems is responsible for managing the operations of the districts Student Information System. This includes ongoing configuration maintenance implementation and operation of all Synergy systems and modules including Online Registration Gradebook ParentVue and Special Education.

This position ensures that the system is secure reliable and effectively supports district goals and operations. Managing data includes importing and exporting student data within the Student Information System as well as across various applications. Success in this position requires a strategic thinker with strong technical skills including the ability to translate complex system requirements into understandable solutions for end users.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the Student Information System
  • Implement changes and updates to the Student Information Systems
  • Manage security setup and account access for users
  • Develop and execute project plans timelines and deliverable
  • Oversee reporting of Average Daily Membership as required by the Arizona Department of Education as well as other required state and federal data compliance requirements
  • Query update and manage relational databases
  • Develop documentation for recurring processes related to end users
  • Coordinate and oversee training to users of the Student Information System
  • Collaborate with district staff to ensure efficiencies and utilization of the student data within the Student Information System
  • Participate in state and national networks to remain current on best practices and reporting requirements
  • Interact with staff at all levels remaining flexible proactive and responsive
  • Coordinate and communicate with vendors and business partners regarding software applications and integration with the Student Information Systems
  • Establish and communicate clear deliverables and expectations to team members regarding projects
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills related to all aspects of the Student Information System
  • Supervise members of the Information Systems team
