About the Role

Were looking for a strategic and collaborative leader to join our team as Director Operational Governance Risk and this role you will establish and lead a consistent operational governance risk and compliance framework across Operations. This role ensures that all operational service lines operate in compliance with enterprise policies regulatory requirements and internal control standards. The Director partners closely with Enterprise Risk to align operational risk management to the enterprise risk framework enabling strong risk discipline audit readiness and transparent decision making while supporting operational performance and continuous improvement.

What Youll Do

  • Define and execute the operational governance risk and compliance strategy aligned to enterprise objectives and the enterprise risk framework.
  • Establish governance forums decision rights and accountability models across operational service lines.
  • Advise Operations leadership on risk exposure control effectiveness and alignment to enterprise risk appetite.
  • Lead identification assessment and mitigation of operational regulatory and reputational risks in coordination with Enterprise Risk.
  • Maintain operational risk registers key risk indicators and control frameworks aligned to enterprise standards.
  • Own operational compliance policies monitoring and reporting activities and partner with Enterprise Risk Legal Finance IT and other enterprise teams to ensure integrated risk management.
  • Lead operational readiness for internal and external audits and examinations and ensure timely remediation of findings and sustainable corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain operational risk and compliance reporting for leadership and governance committees and establish standards for incident management business continuity and operational resilience.
  • Drive the use of automation analytics and digital tools to improve control effectiveness and monitoring and partner with technology teams to embed governance and compliance capabilities into operational processes.
  • Foster a culture of risk ownership ethical conduct and accountability across Operations and influence leaders and teams through guidance coaching and standards rather than direct people management.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Finance Risk Management or related field.
  • Ten or more years of progressive experience in operational risk governance or compliance.
  • Experience partnering with enterprise risk functions and operating within enterprise risk frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements audit practices and control frameworks.
  • Experience with digital risk compliance or workflow automation tools.
  • Proven ability to influence across functions and senior leadership without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading operational readiness for internal and external audits and examinations.
  • Experience establishing governance forums decision rights and accountability models.
  • Experience developing and maintaining operational risk and compliance reporting for leadership and governance committees.
  • Experience driving automation analytics and digital tools to improve control effectiveness and monitoring.

Location:

Current Location: Owings Mills MD

The hiring base salary range for this position is $132500 to $182160 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individuals knowledge skills experience equity with other team members and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
