Infracon Construction is a full-service General Contractor specializing in heavy civil mining industrial and infrastructure projects across Canada. Infracon has extensive experience working on active mine sites and alongside owner teams as well as municipal ministry and the resource sector. We are focused on delivering earthworks underground utilities concrete and infrastructure projects that meet strict safety environmental and quality standards.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Operations Manager were looking for a Survey Manager who understands that survey isnt support its control. This role is critical to protecting margin preventing rework and ensuring we build exactly what were paid to build.
Key Responsibilities
- You will own survey execution across multiple projects. That means:
- Managing and mentoring Infracon surveyors
- Overseeing third-party survey providers
- Acting as the primary liaison with client/owner survey teams
- Governing models surfaces and control
- Managing quantity validation and reconciliation
- Ensuring as-builts are accurate and defensible
- Protecting projects from preventable survey-driven rework
- Establishing new survey management systems and improving existing systems
Core Responsibilities
Survey Governance
- Establish and enforce survey QA/QC standards
- Validate control before production starts
- Ensure one approved source of truth for models and surfaces
Leadership
- Lead and develop project survey teams
- Coordinate third-party survey vendors
- Resolve conflicts between field and client survey teams
Data & Model Management
- Review and approve machine control files
- Manage surface versioning and revisions
- Oversee drone and GPS data integration
Quantity & Commercial Support
- Validate quantities prior to billing submission
- Reconcile Infracon vs client survey differences early
- Support change order documentation with defensible data
As- Builts & Closeout
- Ensure continuous as-built capture
- Deliver clean complete survey records at project completion
Technology Stewardship
- Manage GPS total stations drones and survey software
- Manage all GPS machine control assets
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in survey processes
Qualifications and Experience
- 5 years heavy civil mining or infrastructure survey experience
- 5 years in a leadership or senior survey role
- Strong earthworks and volumetric analysis background
- Experience working directly with client/owner survey teams
- Proficiency with Trimble Topcon Leica or equivalent systems
- Civil 3D or equivalent modeling and design experience
- Strong understanding of construction sequence
- Civil Tech or BA preferred
