A leading Japanese food manufacturer is looking for a Purchasing Administrator to join their team.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinated procurement of ingredients packaging and supplies for their production.
- Created processed and tracked purchase orders for the ingredients and packaging materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production planners to determine timely purchasing needs.
- Ensured ontime delivery of all materials to meet production schedules.
- Communicated with suppliers regarding pricing availability lead times and order status.
- Assisted in evaluating suppliers based on cost quality reliability and performance.
- Resolved order discrepancies delivery delays and material quality issues.
- Maintained accurate purchasing records pricing lists contracts and vendor information.
- Updated ERP/inventory systems with purchase orders receipts and delivery confirmations.
- Prepared reports on purchasing activity cost trends and material usage.
- Partnered with Production QA Finance and Warehouse teams to support crossdepartment operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- 25 years of experience in purchasing inventory or administrative support (food manufacturing preferred).
- Strong understanding of procurement workflows and inventory systems.
- Excellent communication organization and problemsolving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Detailoriented with strong data entry and recordkeeping accuracy.
- Skilled in vendor communication and relationship management.
- Basic knowledge of Japanese food manufacturing processes is preferred.
- Ability to analyze pricing and cost data; teamoriented mindset.
- Strong English communication skills are required. Japanese language ability is a plus but not required.
