The Role:


Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain and Logistics the Senior Manager Productionwill ensure health and safety team development and safe and efficient operations for our new production facilities and equipment. This position oversees the launch operation and scaling-up of an in-house vegetable processing facility. You will optimize distribution to ensure that processed vegetables are efficiently distributed to our network of community partners. You will lead by example fostering a positive and collaborative team environment. This position within Fleet and Warehouse Operations will work collaboratively and cross-functionally across the organization.

Your Impact:

  • Demonstrate expertise in managing perishable products including QA proper handling storage and the use of specialized equipment such as coolers freezers and staging areas to ensure quality and compliance with safety standards.
  • Contribute to inventory control documentation through a daily update of skid counts per zone skid count per category. This crucial information will be fed into a pending planning dashboard.
  • Assist in the commissioning and launching of our in-house vegetable processing running manage the inputs production outputs storage and distribution of processed vegetables for our current snack programs. Plan and execute scaling-up/expansions to this program.
  • Hire onboard train and mentor all Production staff.
  • Ensure that production equipment is sanitary compliant with its PM schedule and is always in excellent working order.
  • Assume responsibility for maintaining motivating and leading staff in the food production facility. You will ensure a positive team dynamic and monitor performance/development goals; mentor success establish priorities and evaluate results.
  • Secure contingency/redundancy agreements to ensure uninterrupted supply in the event of equipment downtime.
  • Provide support for group food sorts and other initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned to support the overall goals of the organization.

Who You Are:

  • Safety-Focused: you prioritize health and safety in all operations ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and maintaining a secure environment for all. Strong working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Building/Fire/Safety/Environmental Codes and Regulations as well as Ministry of Transportation requirements.
  • Entrepreneurially minded: This position entails the launch management and expansion of a processing such cost-effective fulfillment and growth is crucial.
  • Agile: You are always assessing what works best and are proactive in suggesting more efficient ways of making things happen.

  • Meticulous: you have a very keen attention to detail coupled with the ability to navigate easily between projects and priorities.

  • Technically proficient: You are confident in using MS Office and Teams.
  • Valid forklift certification and experience operating warehouse equipment.
  • Able to periodically lift push pull 50 pounds stand walk kneel bend and reach.
  • Valid Class G drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle to travel for work as needed (mileage compensated).
  • Experience with facilities management is considered an asset.
