About the Role
KPFF is seeking a Structural Project Engineer with 3 to 5 years of professional experience for our San Francisco this role youll take on increasing technical responsibility while staying closely involved in day-to-day structural design analysis modeling and coordination. Youll be either PE licensed or actively working toward licensure as you continue to build your technical expertise.
This position is centered on hands-on design work and active participation on project teams. Youll collaborate closely with experienced engineers who value mentorship and technical excellence giving you the opportunity to deepen your skills learn through real project work and grow into greater responsibility over time within a supportive design-focused environment.
What Youll Be Doing
- Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of building types including gravity and lateral systems foundations and structural components.
- Develop engineering calculations design narratives and technical documentation to support project deliverables.
- Coordinate structural drawings using Revit and AutoCAD in collaboration with architects and other engineering disciplines.
- Support project execution by responding to technical questions coordinating with internal team members and contributing to problem-solving throughout design and construction.
- Participate in site visits and field observations to verify existing conditions and support construction-phase engineering needs.
- Review and check work prepared by entry-level engineers providing technical guidance and mentoring as appropriate.
- Collaborate closely with senior engineers and principals to advance structural concepts and ensure design intent is carried through documentation.
Qualifications :
- A bachelors degree in civil or structural engineering (a masters degree is preferred)
- 35 years of professional experience in structural engineering primarily focused on building design in seismic regions
- PE license or actively pursuing licensure
- Demonstrated experience with structural analysis and design of building systems.
- Experience with structural analysis software is expected; proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD preferred.
- Strong understanding of applicable building codes and design standards.
- Clear communicator who works well in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
- Interest in continued technical growth and development within structural engineering.
Additional Information :
Compensation
KPFF offers a competitive base salary that reflects your experience technical skill set and professional background. For this role the anticipated salary range is $90000$115000 depending on experience and qualifications.
In addition to base pay KPFF recognizes individual and team contributions through performance-based bonuses at the Reporting Center level. More details on compensation incentives and benefits will be shared as part of the interview process.
