What will you do

We have an exciting opportunity for aSenior FloodModellerto join ourPerthoffice focusing onWA-based projects.

In this roleyoulllead and deliver flood modelling and flood risk advisory work across a diverse portfoliosupporting infrastructure land development transport waterenergyand climate resilience outcomes.Youllwork on hydrologic and hydraulic assessments develop and peer review modelling approaches and translate complex floodbehaviourinto practical client-ready insights that enable safer more resilient decisions.

As a senior member of the team you will:

  • Lead flood modelling packages end-to-end (scopemethodologydeliveryand quality)

  • Support multidisciplinary projects with civil water environmenttransportand planning teams

  • Engage directly with WA clients and stakeholders contributing to trusted technical advice

  • Mentor and develop juniormodellers/engineers helping grow capability across the team

  • Contribute to proposals and work winning across WA opportunities

We are currently delivering landmark programs acrossWaterDefence Education Transport Aviation and Commercial sectorsgiving you the opportunity to contribute to nationally significant infrastructure and community outcomes.

Here are the key things you will need to bring ideas tolife:

  • Demonstrated experience inflood modelling and flood risk assessment includinghydrologic and hydraulicmodelling inputs/outputs and clear technical reporting.

  • Strong capability in one or more industry-standard tools such asTUFLOWHEC-RAS (1D/2D)MIKE (FLOOD/URBAN)and/orInfoWorksICM(or equivalent).

  • Experience undertakingflood studies(riverine urban overland flow coastal/tidal interactions where relevant) including sensitivity testing and scenario development.

  • Knowledge of Australian hydrology and ARR principles (e.g.ARR2019) and experience with hydrologic methods/tools (e.g.RORBURBS etc.) as applicable to project context.

  • Ability to interpret and apply relevantWA and Australian guidance/standardsand work effectively with local authority requirements (state agencies and local government contexts).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to translate modelling results intoclear actionable outcomesfor non-technical stakeholders.

  • Confidence leading technical reviews coordinating interfaces and delivering high-quality documentation to time and budget.

  • Proven experience supporting proposals building client relationships and contributing to repeat work through excellent service.

  • Tertiary qualifications inEngineering Hydrology Environmental Science(or similar).Chartered status (or working toward)is highly regarded.
