Job Summary

You will work alongside experienced professionals in the Amsterdam unit of INGs Structured Distribution Solutions (SDS) team.

Part of INGs Loan Distribution Group (LDG) cluster SDS operates within the Capital Markets & Advisory (CMA) division of ING Wholesale Banking. SDS is a commercial investor facing unit responsible for structuring balance sheet solutions for ING.

Split between Dublin and Amsterdam SDS is responsible for the design and execution of various portfolio-based solutions (including Significant Risk Transfer securitisations Forward Flow Partnerships Structured Portfolio Sales) to help deliver on INGs Capital Velocity goals.

We are looking for candidates with strong skills and an aptitude to learn fast in a specialist area with extensive exposure to lending structured credit and regulatory return there is potential to develop a career within a pivotal area of modern credit and loan markets.

Work environment:

Functionally reporting into the Dublin based Global Head of SDS and hierarchically into the Amsterdam based Head of SDS Netherlands you will work on all aspects of transactions including prospecting structuring execution and (where relevant) distribution. You will operate in focused deal teams learning on the job alongside dedicated professionals across INGs global network.

You will work with a growing specialist team to:

  • Help structure synthetic securitisations (SRTs) over credit exposures across INGs Wholesale and Retail Banking portfolios. These transactions are bespoke portfolio risk transfer structures that are key to INGs capital velocity goals.
  • Establish and promote Forward Flow Partnerships with third party investors; and
  • Help selectively dispose loan assets in the secondary market.
  • SDS initiatives involve extensive interaction with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders on high profile strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Reviewing loan portfolio and related risk and capital attributes for suitability
  • Assisting in review and assembly of eligible exposures for inclusion in SRTs forward flow partnerships or portfolio disposals
  • Assisting in preparation of materials for internal stakeholders:
  • Scenario analysis incorporating financial models on alternative transaction and portfolio approaches.
  • Presentation materials for senior decision makers / committees
  • Approval requests for proposed transactions.
  • Internal Risk and Regulatory Compliance checklists.
  • As well as materials for external stakeholders:
  • Investor presentations term sheets portfolio datatapes financial models and due diligence materials.
  • Analysis and evidence towards supervisor for transactions requiring regulatory approval.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has a genuine interest and curiosity in finance and a desire to build expertise in structured finance banking and related activities.
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment working closely with colleagues toward common goals.
  • Has a strong academic track record with university and/or professional qualification (i.e. CFA) in quantitative business finance or related discipline.
  • Has at least two years of experience in wholesale banking asset-backed securities and/or capital markets.
  • Is comfortable working with data and has strong financial modelling skills.
  • Has excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience and proficiency in PowerPoint will be an asset.
  • Is detail-oriented and accurate you can manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
