Job Summary
The Entry-Level Welder supports the fabrication team by performing basic welding assembly and metal preparation tasks under close supervision. This role is ideal for someone early in their welding career who is eager to learn grow and develop solid fabrication skills in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Training and mentorship will be provided.
Roles and Responsibilities
Assist in welding and fabricating metal components using basic MIG or Stick welding processes under guidance.
Read and follow simple drawings or basic shop sketches; learn how to interpret technical blueprints over time.
Prepare materials for fabrication including cutting grinding cleaning and handling components.
Perform basic assembly of fabricated parts using hand and power tools.
Inspect own work for accuracy and quality reporting defects or issues to senior welders or supervisors.
Maintain a clean organized and safe work area.
Follow all company safety guidelines equipment procedures and workplace standards.
Support senior fabricators and welders as needed with routine tasks.
Basic Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience. (schooling certificates or hobby-level experience acceptable).
Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance
Basic familiarity with welding processes (MIG preferred; TIG/Stick a plus but not required).
Ability to use basic shop tools such as grinders drills saws and measuring tools.
Willingness to learn how to read engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions.
Ability to lift and handle materials typical of a fabrication environment.
Good work ethic reliability and interest in growing technical skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to take direction and work effectively as part of a team.
Reliable motivated and eager to learn.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 40lbs safely.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with PPE requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a welding certificate program or vocational training.
Exposure to metal fabrication through coursework apprenticeship or prior work.
Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.
