The Welfare Officer will support student wellbeing attendance and safeguarding processes.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting students with pastoral concerns
Managing minor medical issues and first aid
Liaising with parents regarding welfare matters
Supporting attendance monitoring
Assisting with safeguarding referrals
Supporting vulnerable and at-risk students
Working closely with Heads of Year
Recording welfare concerns accurately
Supporting reintegration meetings
Liaising with external agencies
This role requires strong interpersonal skills and emotional resilience.
The Welfare Officer works closely with the Safeguarding Lead Attendance Officer and pastoral leaders.
Experience in welfare or pastoral support
Strong understanding of safeguarding
Ability to build positive relationships with students
Excellent communication skills
Organised and calm under pressure
First aid qualification (desirable)
Commitment to student wellbeing
