Job Overview
The Supervisor of Professional Learning and School Support is responsible for evaluating supporting and implementing professional learning and school support aligned to student needs and the continuous school improvement process. The position includes the direct facilitation of the division instructional facilitator program at the assigned level as well as the coordination of other aligned facilitators with the Departments of Academics Student
Services and Teaching and Learning. This position will establish and maintain contact with Division Instructional Facilitators as they work with school-based administrators classroom teachers and other facilitator groups within the Department of Academics to support classroom instruction across the content areas. This position will also work alongside content area supervisors to ensure that the Instructional Facilitators possess the knowledge skills and dispositions to support teachers in supporting student learning needs in the system.
Roles and Responsibilities

- Oversees the design coordination and delivery professional learning and school support for school and division staff in efforts related to the continuous school improvement process and strategic goals of Loudoun County Public Schools.
- Supervises the instructional facilitator program as assigned and supports coordinating facilitators across the Department of Academics.
- Collaborates with staff in the Department of Academics School Leadership Student Services and Teaching and Learning to help analyze student data solve problems make instructional decisions and provide professional development to improve teaching and learning.
- Engages in strategic planning of budgets in collaboration with the Director of Professional Learning and School Support and the Department of Teaching and Learning leadership team and administers the budgets of all assigned areas.
- Expands the capacity of LCPS as it relates to its strategic goals by serving as a resource for others on these matters by collaboratively supporting efforts to provide professional learning to school staff.
- Increases the capacity of school and division staff to provide instructional support and redesign curriculum based on the diverse learning needs of students in the classroom.
- Supports and equips division and school leadership with the appropriate tools resources and professional learning and coaching.
- Prepares reports attends School Board meetings and serves on committees as the Assistant Superintendent or Director may request and assists in preparing the annual budget of the school system; aligns Professional Learning and School Support with the vision mission and goals of the division.
Qualifications
Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.
Education Masterss Degree
Experience
Five (5) years of progressive overall education experience in teaching supervision and administration
Licenses and Certifications
Holds or is eligible for the Virginia Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in administration and supervision
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of state and federal statutes regulations and rules relating to instruction curriculum student learning and ability to advise interested parties of the provisions of the laws
- Ability to keep and maintain accurate records and to meet deadlines
- Possess strong communication writing and presentation skills which demonstrate the ability to assimilate analyze and present information clearly and concisely
- Ability to communicate with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds
- Demonstrate the leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with administrators and teachers

The employee must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately loudly or quickly. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects.
