What will you do
As a Senior Product Manager - Technical you will shape the future of Amazons cross-border customs compliance platform. You will define Amazons Know Your Customer (KYC) vision execute the long-term strategy for how millions of customers worldwide securely provide identity documentation for international purchases. This role offers the unique opportunity to transform a critical compliance requirement into a seamless customer experience while enabling Amazons global expansion.
The ideal candidate has a strong product management background combined with a solid understanding of current AI/ML technologies. You will architect solutions that balance complex technical regulatory and business needs across 200 destinations. You will leverage technologies to automate document processing building intelligent validation systems that reduce customs delays and creating scalable platforms that support rapid market expansion. You can develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives but also roll up their sleeves dig in and get the job done. Strong business judgment ability to influence cross-functional teams customer-centric and creative mindset with strong communication skills are essential.
1. Shape Strategic Vision: You will lead the strategic vision and architecture transforming KYC from a compliance tool into Amazons unified identity management platform. This includes spearheading re-architecture initiatives to create a modular scalable system that optimizes expansion. You will champion AI/ML integration to achieve improvement in first-time acceptance rates and faster market launches.
2. Drive Customer Experience Innovation You will design intelligent features that reduce manual inputs from customer and enhance validation capabilities. Your focus will be on creating seamless experiences across marketplace program and use case boundaries while partnering with stakeholders to improve conversion.
3. Lead Technical re-architecture: Orchestrating integration with multiple platforms (Checkout Your Orders Seller Central) building robust carrier feedback mechanisms and monitoring systems and designing scalable solutions that support diverse requirements across 200 destinations. You will drive the requirements and engage in decisions on self-service configuration capabilities that empower business teams to manage their unique requirements.
Management: You will manage relationships with multiple stakeholders including carrier operations team Trade Legal Business teams and partner tech team. Youll drive data-driven decisions set up enhanced analytics and reporting capabilities present regular updates to senior leadership on compliance progress and strategic initiatives and balance competing priorities across compliance customer experience and operational efficiency.
Key job responsibilities
Define a data-driven product vision develop business cases requirements and prioritize competing opportunities.
Work directly with engineering to build exceptional products and manage annual roadmap.
Understand customer (external and internal) needs define clear requirements and execute to high expectations in a fast-paced environment.
Interact with stakeholders at multiple levels and in multiple locations working with business operations tech and BI teams to define and deliver solutions.
Anticipate bottlenecks provide escalation management and make tradeoffs to balance business needs versus technical or operational constraints.
A day in the life
There may not be a typical day. One day you may be leading a vision workshop or presenting to a VP and the next day conducting a deep dive into a customer anecdote or collaborating with your software development and UX Design partners to build a feature. But what is consistent is always have your charters goals and progress top of mind driving clarity and stakeholder alignment and looking around corners to anticipate problems that may affect individual or team outcomes.
- Bachelors degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience managing technical products or online services
- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning
- Experience in using analytical tools such as Tableau Qlikview QuickSight
- Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools
