Position Purpose
The Resident Aide provides compassionate hands-on care and support to residents in accordance with their individual service plans. This position supports residents with daily living needs while treating each resident with dignity respect and kindness. The ideal candidate has a positive can-do attitude and a genuine desire to help others.
Responsibilities
Ensure residents daily care and service needs are met including Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing grooming hygiene toileting dressing eating socializing and participating in activities
Assist residents with participation in Life Enrichment Events by leading activities assisting the Life Enrichment Coordinator or escorting residents
Follow resident service plans for appropriate level of assistance and support
Observe and report changes in resident condition or needs as they occur
Perform light housekeeping duties including bed making linen changes dusting trash removal and laundry
Use safe and proper techniques when handling cleaning chemicals tools carts and equipment
Report unusual incidents and respond appropriately during emergencies
Practice safe sanitary hygiene at all times
Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals of the living center
Qualifications
Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting and eager to learn and grow
Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation daily
Demonstrated compassionate and supportive approach to care
Availability to work varied shifts including nights and/or weekends
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in healthcare hospitality or in-home care
Willingness to follow and enforce health and safety standards
High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent caregiver experience
Takes pride in providing high-quality care
Hoyer lift experience preferred (specific to resident needs)
