Bupa Place Salford Quays or Willow House Staines hybrid working with minimum 1 day in the office

Full time 37.5 hours per week

57000 - 70000 DOE

As a Compliance Business Partner youll keep our UK insurance entities (BINS and BISL) ahead of changing regulation and best practice so customers get good outcomes and great experiences. That means leading our horizon scanning (keeping track of upcoming regulatory changes) guiding how we respond to new rules and making sure our regulatory reporting is timely and correct. Youll be close to senior leaders and governance forums helping the Chief Compliance Officer meet their regulatory accountabilities work with real impact at Bupa.

Youll shape the regulatory agenda across the business champion a customercentric approach to change and bring the three lines of defence together through practical advice training and transparent communications. Youll also provide secondline oversight of SMCR (the Senior Managers & Certification Regime).

How youll help us make health happen:

  • Lead horizon scanning and translate regulatory developments into simple actionable plans for our teams.
  • Own and improve the Regulatory Change process for BINS and BISL tracking changes through to implementation and reporting impacts clearly.
  • Act as a trusted adviser on SMCR and support timely submissions of BINS/BISL Management Responsibilities Map to the FCA/PRA.
  • Partner with Finance on nonSolvency II regulatory reporting; prepare concise committee papers and regular hot topics updates for senior management.
  • Support regulatory engagements and assessments (including the FCA) offering constructive challenge managing actions and driving good customer outcomes.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • At least 5 years experience in a risk & compliance role is essential.
  • Proven experience in a regulatory advisory or secondline compliance role within insurance/financial services is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of FCA/PRA expectations and the Handbook.
  • Ability to manage prep and interpret data and confident interpreting rules for busy teams.
  • Practical understanding of conduct risk and Consumer Duty; able to join the dots across the endtoend customer journey.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills along with being a clear communicator who builds relationships and influences stakeholders at pace is a must
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and improving processes/policies
  • A self-starter with the ability to plan and work on own initiative.
