Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) Part-Time (0.50 FTE)

Division-Wide Position Start Immediately

Lakeland Catholic School Division is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our division in a 0.50 FTE capacity. This position supports students across all Lakeland Catholic schools working collaboratively with school-based teams to enhance communication development within a faith-based educational environment.

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a registered Speech-Language Pathologist and will travel between school sites as required.

This position plays a key role in supporting the communication development of students in a Catholic educational setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct speech and language programming to students as outlined by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Support students individually or in small groups across multiple school sites
  • Track student progress and maintain documentation
  • Prepare therapy materials and assist with scheduling
  • Communicate effectively with school staff and parents as appropriate

Qualifications:
  • Completion of a recognized Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) diploma; or
  • ECE Level 2 or 3 Certification (Level 3 preferred) with relevant experience.
  • Experience working with school-aged children or youth in clinical or educational settings.
  • Excellent communication organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to travel between schools within the division (valid drivers license and vehicle required).
Assets:
  • Experience working in a Catholic or faith-based school environment.
  • Familiarity with complex communication needs and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
