We act for the roleThe Officer - Recovery (Victoria Bushfires) will work within and across local government areas to support and collaborate with volunteers community local stakeholders networks and key vulnerable groups to coordinatesupport forsocial recovery includingneeds assessments. They will have a strong focus onsupporting volunteersand liaison with internal and external stakeholders including VCCEM. This role requires a motivated and proactive person who has community engagement experience excellent networking and time management to day you will:Coordinate and roster volunteers to supportsocial recovery includingneeds assessments across communities affected by the January 2026 Victoria bushfires in accordance with the agreed program design and using agreed assessment toolsand reporting the best outcomes by bringing people together to work towards common goals (both internally and with external partners)Actively engage with local community groups agencies organisations and local government to understand need seek ways to support recovery communication community connection and ensure connection between local volunteers and Red Cross programs .What you will bringDemonstrated sound technical knowledge and expertise in conducting needs assessment in community development and/or emergency management understanding of community development and community engagement public speaking facilitation training and presentation to work effectively as part of a team and within a matrix management ability to engage with and influence internal and external stakeholders at various -developed analytical problem solving and decision-making abilities.A Clearance to work with Children and a valid Drivers licence are mandatory requirements for this that act for you while you act for humanityWork flexibility:Australian Red Cross operates under a hybrid working model which includes two days on-site and three days from home providing you more work/life wellbeing: In addition to your salary you can take advantage of salary packaging that could provide you with a great way to reduce the amount of tax you pay - and get more from your salary.
