Job Summary


The candidate in this role is responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with community stakeholders while conducting precise land and property surveys. This role combines community outreach stakeholder engagement and technical surveying tasks to support organizational goals and ensure accurate land measurements.


Duties & Responsibilities

1. Community Relations:

Develop and implement community outreach programs and events to foster positive relationships with local organizations and residents.

Serve as the primary liaison between ERC department and the community addressing concerns and promoting the organizations mission.

Maintain accurate records of landowning families within each community and administer ROW contract renewals including rotation agreements.

Be on-the-ground assessor of the GTS communities situations/AoR

Acts as intelligence sponge within the community to support in the handling of emergent lands and claims issues.

Work closely with the asset/project teams in the evaluation reporting and monitoring of all suspected or confirmed incursions on GTS pipeline and/or 3rd party interference.

Work with ERC department focal to identify the legal and customary frameworks relevant to land administration within GTS and RoW communities.

Assist ERC department focal in conducting due diligence and clarifying land ownership status.

Work with ERC department focal to consult the land registry and/or equivalent Government databases particularly at local and state levels to ascertain veracity of claims on RoW.

Assist to deepen ERC departments understanding of the local practices on land tenure as well as traditional land dispute resolution mechanisms.


2. Surveying:

Conduct on-site land and property surveys using specialized equipment such as GPS devices total stations and electronic distance-measuring tools.

Measure Pipeline ROW boundaries and verify the accuracy of existing land data.

Research landed property titles and survey records to gather additional information.

Prepare and maintain detailed maps reports and legal descriptions of surveyed lands.

Collaborate with Projects department to provide accurate land data and support project planning and execution.

Ensure all surveying activities comply with legal professional and ethical standards.

Analyze data and prepare reports including maps plans and descriptions of lands parcels

Conduct valuations of land and property for various purposes including market value lease value and compensation

Research and analyze market trends sales data and other relevant information to determine land and property values

Prepare and present comprehensive valuation reports to clients

Collaborate with other BUs (projects pipeline team legal ECO etc) to provide lands related services.



Requirements

Education

  • ./HND in Engineering Sciences or Management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse community groups.
  • Proficiency in using surveying equipment and software.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of local land use regulations and property laws.


Experience

  • 10 - 15 years post-graduation experience With at least 5-8 years specifically in pipeline construction and 3-5 yeas in a principal role or in a similar role for portfolio of projects and good knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry
  • Previous experience in community relations public relations or a related field.
  • Experience in conducting land surveys and using geospatial techniques.

Competences

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in GIS software and other surveying tools.
