The Role
The ABC is looking for a Senior Digital Producer/ Reporter to file breaking political news for ABCs digital platforms and help shape the home page with sharp engaging coverage from Parliament House. Collaborate with journalists and digital producers to sub-edit and publish original creative and relevant stories that keep audiences across Australia.
The Job
- Generate diverse political stories appealing to all Australians.
- Write produce and check stories for accuracy timeliness and innovation.
- Sub-edit copy guide journalists and commission stories as needed.
- Create multimedia content (text photos audio video) using CoreMedia.
- Collaborate with TV radio and online teams for cohesive coverage.
- Pitch ideas monitor events build contacts and use analytics for impact
Position Description: SENIOR DIGITIAL PRODUCER
About You
Youll have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent skills and experience in journalism.
- Advanced digital journalism skills including online news social media and audience engagement.
- Proven sub-editor with fast accurate copy editing rewriting and reporter feedback.
- Strong editorial judgment news sense and ability to pitch/deliver political stories under pressure.
- Knowledge of federal politics policy and Parliament House procedures desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal skills teamwork and ability to meet tight deadlines autonomously.
