The Melwa Conglomerate a leading diversified conglomerate in the country widely known for its construction product range under the renowned Melwa brand is currently expanding into multiple product portfolios. As part of this strategic expansion Melwa Cement has been established as a subsidiary company of the group.

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced and technically sound Production Manager to lead our plastic packaging manufacturing facility in Seeduwa. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between advanced Polymer Science and efficient factory management driving high-volume production of quality bottles and packaging solutions while upholding the standards of the Melwa Conglomerate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end operations of Injection Blow Molding and Extrusion Blow Molding production lines to meet daily targets.
  • Apply expertise in Polymer Chemistry and Compounding to optimize material usage product durability and cycle times.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives troubleshoot technical defects and manage mold maintenance schedules.
  • Spearhead internal Plastics Recycling programs and implement effective waste reduction strategies.
  • Manage and mentor a technical workforce ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and ISO quality standards.

Requirement:

  • Bachelors degree in Polymer Science Plastics Engineering or a related Physical Science field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in the plastics industry specifically in bottle or packaging manufacturing.
  • Proven track record in a Factory Manager or Head of Production role.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Polymer Characterization Plastic Part Design and Engineering Plastics.
  • Strong leadership personality with the ability to effectively manage a factory team.
  • Age below 45 years is preferred.
