DescriptionThe senior staff chaplain projects Gods love by providing pastoral care to patients families and colleagues through routine and/or referral visitation crisis and bereavement care support activities educational events and worship services. These services areprovided during the staff members assigned shift and on-call rotations for nights weekends and holidays as required. The position is under the general supervision and direction of the director of homecare and hospice. The senior staff chaplain is assigned additional responsibilities in a specialty area by the director such as coordination of the bereavement program. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides pastoral care through routine and/or referral visitation.

- Provides crisis and bereavement care during times of deaths codes and other emergencies as well as oversees the bereavement program.

- Develops and implements pastoral care ministries in an assigned specialty.
|
- Provides chapel/worship services as required.
|
- Completes assigned goals.

Specifications
Experience
Description: Service in a Southern Baptist church or institution or previous clinical pastoral experience in any institution.
Minimum Required: 10 years experience in a clinical setting.
Preferred/Desired: 10 years experience in a clinical setting with a majority served in BMHCC facilities.
Education
Description
Minimum Required: Bachelors degree Master of Divinity (or equivalent) from an accredited seminary Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)and 1600 hours of CPE (4 units).
Preferred/Desired: >1600 hours (4 or more units) of CPE preferably in residence.
