About the role
The Role will be responsible for planning weekly and daily volumes in line with stock flows Budget / Forecast effective allocation of resources working in partnership with all other process managers on shift.
Maintain accurate stock files on the warehouse management system and supply accurate information via the support roles to the customer and on-site senior management team.
First line management of teams communicating and resolving operational issues and continuous improvement.
The role will be split into the following areas.
Leadership:
- Responsible for a small team of Operatives within their defined process.
- Ensure efficient processes are in place and staff are trained to the required standard.
- Communicate effectively with all internal and external customers.
- Ensure robust succession planning.
- Mentor and coach colleagues within their team
Nature and Area of impact:
- Liaise with customer and make sure all requirements are met effectively and on-time.
- Act as first point of contact for any customer enquiries.
- Support Department Operations Manager in development of the commercial relationship
Budget/Financial:
- Responsibility for the operational staffing and operational admin budget on shift.
- Manage the P.I targets for area of responsibility and drive efficiencies up and lost time down.
Key Responsibilities
Provide an efficiently run section responsible for achieving performance targets and KPIs
- Responsible for the Health and safety of work areas.
- Accurate completion of Return-to-work documents of staff reporting to them on shift.
- Managing staff performance through the company policies adhering to set Service Level Agreements.
- Manage production and interpretation of KPIs and other statistical information and ensure data is submitted on time.
- Provide period review financial / KPI reports relating to area of responsibility in KPIs to the Operations Manager.
- Achieve the department KPIs and continually strive to improve year on year performance.
- Be part of any project team when introducing new systems of work within the operation / business
- Housekeeping and effective management of WMS to drive stock and operational efficiencies.
- Liaise with internal and external customers.
- Support the Operations Manager as part of the department team to maintain effective stock control.
- Responsibility for the integrity of stock received Picked / Dispatched and Returned so accurate data is visible on the WMS.
- Maintain high levels of stock accuracy.
- Report any influences which affect performance or are outside normal operating practices.
- Compliance to all SLAs and contractual KPIs.
- Effective management of operational processes and review in line with changes and strategy i.e. business core values.
- Provide an administration service to ensure compliance to service levels company and legislative requirements to support the Operations Manager in the optimisation of available warehouse space.
- Carry out any other duties as required to support colleagues or the company when needed.
About you
- Compliance to all SLAs and contractual KPIs.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment
- Previous experience working a Supervisory or Managerial role.
- Ability to monitor and improve staff performance against targets in a busy environment.
- PC literate (Microsoft Office).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to deal with multiple tasks and to prioritise work of others.
- Able to make judgemental decisions regarding safety and operational issues.
