The Opportunity

The National Addiction and Mental Health Surveillance Unit (NAMHSU) is leading a Medical Research Future Fundsupported program () to reduce addiction self-harm and mental ill health. The project integrates 20 years of binational cohort and cross-sectional data with administrative datasets and will establish a new cohort with two additional waves. By examining alcohol availability and adolescent and young adult health the program provides evidence to inform policy strengthen services and reduce harm.

The Research Fellow will support this large-scale multidisciplinary program through research design data management and analysis. The role includes merging and validating survey and administrative datasets preparing data for community dashboards and producing reports and publications. It also involves stakeholder engagement contributing to conferences and seminars and supporting teaching or qualitative and mixed-methods research related to the project.

We are seeking someone with a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in multidisciplinary research projects. Candidates will need strong analytical skills and experience in manuscript preparation. Well-developed research skills including data collection management and analysis along with the ability to contribute to grant applications are also essential.
