Business Product Owner

Position Description:

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst /Business Architect to serves as the Team Product Owner within a Milestone Driven Agile delivery model.
The Team PO will take direction from a Lead Product Owner who owns the overall product vision & roadmap and he/she will be accountable for driving team delivery within committed timeframes.
This role owns the team backlog end to end translates roadmap priorities into executable features and stories and serves as the single decision-making authority for team-level scope prioritization and story acceptance.
The Team PO will support two scrum teams and work closely with Business Advisors SMEs and technical leads to ensure value-driven delivery.


Secret clearance required (must reside in Canada 7-10 years to be eligible)

Your future duties and responsibilities:

- Own and manage the team backlog ensuring alignment with the Lead Product Owners strategic roadmap and priority direction.
- Translate epics and features into clear testable and valuedriven user stories with welldefined acceptance criteria.
- Set and refine teamlevel priorities to support predictable delivery and meet committed milestones.
- Act as the single authority for teamlevel scope decisions including story acceptance and prioritization.
- Ensure backlog readiness including adherence to Definition of Ready (DoR) and consistent story quality.
- Collaborate closely with technical leads and developers to clarify requirements address questions and remove delivery blockers.
- Identify manage and communicate dependencies risks and tradeoffs that may impact delivery timelines.
- Ensure delivery outcomes align with expected business value user needs and overall product intent.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Core Product Ownership Skills

- Demonstrated handson Product Ownership experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Proven ability to own delivery outcomes endtoend beyond writing requirements.
- Strong decisionmaking capability with full authority over prioritization and backlog content.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement communication and expectation management.
- Expertise in backlog refinement sprint planning and preparing teams for release readiness.

Business & Technical Competencies

- Experience collaborating with Business Advisors SMEs and development teams in fastmoving delivery environments.
- Strong understanding of endtoend business processes and how system changes impact operations.
- Ability to manage crossteam dependencies competing priorities and multistream workflows.
- Comfortable working in complex highly matrixed environments with evolving requirements and constraints.


Nice to Have

- Experience working in large enterprise or regulated environments (e.g. banking finance government).
- Familiarity with milestonedriven or hybrid Agile delivery models.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $90000 - $140000. This role is an existing vacancy.
