Job Summary
Swanwood Partnership are looking to welcome a healthcare assistant to their team.This position is offered on a part-time basis for1822 hours per week with the possibility of increasing hours as the role evolves.
Main duties of the role include but not limited to:
- Carry out base-line observations such as pulse oximetry temperature blood pressure and blood glucose levels recording findings accurately.
- Wound care venepuncture phlebotomy checks and administering of medicines and vaccines.
- Ensure that all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session.
- Update patient health records.
- Ensure that medical supplies are in stock.
- Act as a chaperone where required.
- Assist GP during the performance of minor operations.
- Communicate with patients relatives and carers including providing valuable health promotion and education.
- New patient health checks.
The role will offer you the opportunity to build on your experience skills and competence requiring you to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
About the Candidate
To be considered for the position you will have the following experience and skills:
- Have previous HCA experience within a GP or primary care setting (essential)
- Hold a recognised qualification
- Be confident working independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrate excellent communication professionalism and patientcentred values
- Be adaptable reliable and eager to develop new skills - particularly important in a training practice environment
- Strong clinical skills including venepuncture/phlebotomy
- Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidential manner with a compassionate and respectful approachplacing a high value on the dignity of patients relatives carers and colleagues
- Ability to work independently determining own workload priorities as well as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
