The Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) Department in Tucson AZ is a multi-discipline organization responsible for designing building and integrating state of the art testing environments (flight simulators for missiles) as the last step before flight test. On our team you will work with weapon system designers to understand requirements design solutions integrate and deploy the systems to help support tactical software development testing and delivery for missiles to the warfighter.

This position is within the Effectors Center of the HWIL organization and is an onsite role located in Tucson AZ

What You Will Do

• Researches develops designs and tests electrical components equipment systems and networks.

• Designs electrical equipment facilities components products and systems for commercial industrial and domestic purposes.
  Produces products according to specifications using the most cost effective and efficient means. Analyzes and evaluates new or improved electronic components. Includes power generation transmission and distribution rotating machinery illumination wire communication systems and servomechanisms.

• Includes circuit theory computer design and development instrumentation radio communications semiconductor devices solid state devices and television systems.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.

• Professional electrical engineering design experience to include electronic design troubleshooting analysis and test (circuit card level through systems level)

• Experience using electrical engineering design and analysis tools such as: Altium DX Designer Mentor Capital Creo Schematic Xilinx Vivado or equivalent

• Experience using test equipment such as: Oscilloscopes DMMs Network Analyzers Power Meters etc.

• Experience using schematic capture tools and interpreting schematics or performing advanced FPGA firmware development (VHDL or Verilog).

• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Due to the nature of our business remote work is not possible.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience leading focused multi-disciplinary teams doing hardware integration to include tasking responsibility

• Experience working with programming real-time operating systems or embedded systems Excellent technical writing and formal presentation experience A working knowledge of computer architecture and computer hardware optimization techniques

• Experience with developing and implementing programming languages

• Experience utilizing integrated development environments and debugging tools to troubleshoot software Ability and willingness to utilize existing designs as a starting point to interface with new units under test (UUTs) and UUT configurations when necessary

• Experience with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis

• Experience performing analog digital and/or RF design or VHDL/Verilog development for FPGAs.

The salary range for this role is 86800 USD - 165200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
