The Alaska Department of Fish and Game Division of Commercial Fisheries is recruiting

for a Fish and Game Program Technician located in Craig Alaska!

What You Will Be Doing:

This is a dynamic full-time year-round position that is the face behind the counter at the only Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) office on Prince of Wales Island located in Craig. This position serves three divisions of the ADF&GSport Fish Commercial Fisheries and Wildlife Conservationprovides a vital blend of public service administrative support and technical assistance including issuing licenses permits and harvest tickets for fishing and hunting activities; answering public inquiries on regulations opportunities and wildlife concerns; sealing hides and skulls processing harvest reports and entering data. This program technician position will also occasionally support fieldwork for surveys and research projects all while coordinating across divisions in a shared office environment.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:

This position is primarily located in the ADF&G office in Craig Alaska near the Thompson AC house grocery store overlooking the north harbor. It stays busy with a constant flow of in-person and phone interactions data processing permit issuance and collaborative support for area management biologists across the three divisions. This work will require occasional short-duration travel to post office transporting personnel into or out of the field and the occasional trip to another community in Alaska for training seminars.

• A valid drivers license is required. This is an in-town position in Craig Alaska and housing relocation and transportation are not provided.

This position may be in possession of or have access to firearms/ammunition.

Two years of office clerical experience or technical experience related to fish wildlife or habitat resources;
OR
One year of experience providing advanced clerical services based on established procedures precedents and policies in administrative informative and/or programmatic functions. This experience includes work such as an Office Assistant 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.

Substitution:
Postsecondary education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience (3 semester or 4 quarter hours equal one month of experience).
