Job Overview:
- Under very limited supervision and in accordance with standard policies and procedures this position performs a variety of duties in the performance of the payroll functions at Winchester.
- Responsibilities include review of all employees weekly time processing payroll functions transmitting Bi-Weekly payroll reconciliation of Bi-Weekly payroll and assisting the HR Business Partner/Manager in ensuring accurate payroll policies are followed
The starting hourly wage for this role is $28.74/hr
Main responsibilities / Accountabilities:
- Ensure that all payroll policies are implemented in the correct payment to the employees.
- Communicate any questionable payroll related issues immediately to the HR Business Partner/Manager
- Assist in the execution of the Bi-weekly Payroll Transmission and the creation of the payroll files.
- Identify all processing exceptions immediately and ensure that all problems are resolved to meet the deadlines.
- Identify compute resolve and follow-up on all pay adjustments processed through the Payroll department.
- Support the Time Administrator functions as necessary.
- Perform new duties as designated by the HR Business Partner/Manager
- Audit all payroll and time reports to meet the deadlines for payroll department.
- Organize maintain archive and acquire all the payroll records and files including gate times to be in compliance with all record retention regulations.
- Assist in the completion of all correspondence of payroll related questions problems and requests in a timely manner.
- Complete payroll labor analysis information as needed by supervision.
- Maintain accurate controls and documentation for the Payroll department.
- Make recommendations of next steps in accordance with company occurrence and step-up processes
- Maintenance of company badge process (new hires terminations suspensions etc.)
- Potential to support all other general HR duties as needed.
Audit and process various incentives programs paid through payroll
- Assist HR Department in various activities (i.e. employee appreciation hiring events) when necessary
Organizational relationships:
- Reports to the HR Business Partner/Manager. and works closely with Finance Coordinators Human Supervisors and leaders.
Qualifications / abilities:
- Experience with Dayforce time keeping highly preferred
- Potentially other HR duties as assigned
- Must maintain total confidentiality since working with sensitive materials.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
- Monday and early Tuesday mornings are required. May require occasional Holiday and weekend work to meet payroll process schedules.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Must have the ability to compute all work with an accuracy rate of > 98.00%.
- Technical proficiency in the operation of Microsoft Word Excel Access and Outlook and to be able to demonstrate this knowledge is helpful.
Must project a professional image
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work overtime with minimal notice if necessary.
- Must be people and detail oriented.
- Must be very results driven.
- Must have a willingness to investigate analyze and report all questionable issues.
- Must be bold and able to work with minimal direction.
- Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge of plant processes helpful.
- Must be able to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
Physical Considerations:
- Requires frequent walking and extended periods of standing Ability to lift up to 65 lbs. Ability to climb
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required (steel-toed shoes hair and beard nets bump caps gloves eye protection aprons etc.)
