Position: Economist III (multiple positions available)
Location: Seattle Washington
Multiple Positions Available:
closely with senior management business stakeholders scientist and engineers and economist leadership to solve key business problems ranging from Amazon Web Services Kindle Prime inventory planning international retail third party merchants search pricing labor and employment planning effective benefits (health retirement etc.) and beyond;
econometric models using our world class data systems and apply approaches from a variety of skillsets - applied macro/time series applied micro econometric theory empirical IO empirical health labor public economics and related fields are all highly valued skillsets at Amazon;
in a fast moving environment to solve business problems as a member of either a crossfunctional team embedded within a business unit or a central science and economics organization;
techniques that apply econometrics to large data sets address quantitative problems and contribute to the design of automated systems around the company; and
deep knowledge in time series econometrics asset pricing empirical macroeconomics or the use of micro and panel data to improve and validate traditional aggregative models.
(40 hours / week 8:00am-5:00pm Salary Range $159200.00/year to $215300.00/year)

Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Economics Finance or a related field and one year of research or work experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Economics Finance or a related field and five years of experience in the job offered or related occupation as equivalent to the Masters degree and one year of experience.
Must have one year of research or work experience in the following skill(s):
consulting government or academic research;
of program evaluation forecasting time series panel data and high dimensional problems;
of Matlab R SAS or Stata; and knowledge of SQL.
The pay range for this position in Seattle Washington is $159200.00/year to $215300.00/year; however base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position offered.
