Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) has been providing quality service since 1957. We are one of the largest facility service providers in the State of Hawaii. We are seeking a highly motivated reliable and trustworthy individual with excellent customer service skills and detailed oriented individual to clean and maintain a commercial location. While previous experience in janitorial housekeeping or a related field is preferred it is not mandatory. Please be aware that applicants must successfully complete a background check and certain roles require a valid Hawaii drivers license and a dependable vehicle. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for cleaning common areas maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and reporting any maintenance issues. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or with a team are essential. -Key Responsibilities:

Ability to follow instructions

Adhere to safety procedures at all times

Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in assigned duties including: Sweeping dusting mopping vacuuming cleaning spills restrooms offices sidewalks pathways window sills railings stairways parking lots removing bird droppings light scrubbing and clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.

Involves a lot of walking and pushing a utility cart

Restock cleaning supplies as needed

Empty trash receptacles wastebaskets and recyclables disposing of them in designated areas

Multi-task and work efficiently both independently and as part of a team

Uphold a high standard of professionalism and customer service

Communicate effectively with supervisors co-workers vendors and property managers

Report safety issues or building problems (e.g. burnt light bulbs)

Notify the appropriate HBM employee regarding needed supplies and equipment for cleaning duties

Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor or property manager

-Skills and Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred

Must pass a background check

Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred but willing to train enthusiastic candidates

Strong public relations and communication skills

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English

Capable of performing basic manual labor including: Cleaning common areas frequently lifting pushing pulling and carrying a minimum of 30 lbs (up to 50 lbs) reaching overhead grasping objects bending kneeling crawling squatting climbing stretching walking and standing throughout shifts

Experience operating various cleaning machinery preferred but not required (e.g. leaf blower power washer floor scrubber) is preferred but not necessary

-Compensation per hour:$16.00
