About the Role
Design Within Reach is hiring a Furniture Repair Technician to join our team in Batavia OH. This handson role is perfect for someone experienced in furniture repair woodworking restoration upholstery assembly warehouse operations or maintenance technician work.
This is a full-time fourday workweek (MondayThursday 6:00 AM 4:30 PM) with opportunities for overtime.
As a Furniture Repair Technician you will repair restore assemble and qualitycheck modern furniture across multiple product categories. Youll work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and ensure every piece leaving our facility meets our high craftsmanship and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Furniture Repair & Restoration
- Perform repairs on wood furniture case goods upholstery seating and accessories
- Diagnose furniture issues and determine the correct repair method
- Complete mechanical fixes wood touch-ups refinishing and component replacement
- Ensure all completed repairs meet safety durability and aesthetic standards
Technical Training & Support
- Train new technicians on repair procedures equipment usage and safety
- Support consistent workflows and help improve team skill sets
Inventory & Workflow Coordination
- Manage and track parts inventory and request replenishment as needed
- Move and coordinate furniture through the repair and refurbishment process
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and organized workspaces
Operational Excellence
- Identify ways to improve repair efficiency and reduce material waste
- Keep the repair area clean safe and compliant with OSHA and company standards
- Partner with warehouse and operations teams to support daily production goals
What You Bring
- Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced warehouse or repair environment
- Experience with furniture repair woodworking upholstery assembly or similar handson skills (preferred but not required)
- Ability to safely lift 5075 lbs with team lifts up to 250 lbs
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
