Position Overview
Great Basin Staffing LLC is seeking experienced Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technicians for a full-time industrial project in Henderson NV. This role is built for techs who can calibrate troubleshoot and support commissioning in process environmentswhere accuracy matters documentation matters and the fix needs to hold after you walk away.
If youre comfortable with pressure/DP flow temperature level and youve touched analyzers (pH/ORP/conductivity) loop checks and field problem-solving (grounding/shielding impulse line issues scaling) youll be in your element.
What Youll Do
Calibration & Verification (Core of the Role)
Perform routine and corrective calibration of industrial field instruments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Calibrate and verify pressure DP flow temperature and level instruments using traceable test equipment.
Execute as-found / as-left testing and document results against required tolerances.
Verify instrument tag accuracy and ensure instruments match datasheets and installation intent.
Analyzer Support (Preferred)
Calibrate and troubleshoot process analyzers including pH ORP and conductivity systems.
Identify issues caused by sampling problems fouling sensor aging grounding signal noise or configuration errors.
Troubleshooting & Root Cause
Diagnose calibration failures related to:
Wiring/termination issues
Scaling/configuration errors
Impulse line restrictions wet legs leaking valves trapped air
Grounding/shielding problems and noise interference
Coordinate corrections with electrical/controls teams and validate the fix through retest.
Commissioning & Checkout Support
Support commissioning activities including:
Loop checks
I/O verification
Point-to-point testing
Alarm and setpoint validation
Assist in field coordination with instrumentation engineers and controls teams to clear discrepancies quickly.
Documentation & Quality Control
Maintain clean audit-ready documentation including:
Calibration records and certs
Discrepancy reports and punch items
Instrument tag verification and redlines
Communicate technical findings clearly to supervision and the controls/instrumentation team.
Required Qualifications
Strong industrial instrumentation calibration experience (process environment).
Proficient with pressure/DP flow temperature level instrumentation.
Ability to read and interpret instrument drawings P&IDs loop sheets and datasheets.
Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
Preferred (Nice to Have)
Experience with analyzers (pH/ORP/conductivity).
NCCER certification.
MSHA certification (preferred not required).
Experience supporting commissioning/startup on industrial projects.
Schedule & Working Conditions
Full-time industrial work environment with typical plant exposures (noise heat confined areas PPE requirements).
Hands-on field role requiring walking climbing and working around active process equipment.
Pay & Benefits
