Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager will be the go-to person for all employee-related issues responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR practices and processes to ensure a productive innovative and legally compliant workplace. This role requires a strong focus on talent acquisition training and development and employee relations in alignment with Mexicos Federal Labor Law (FLL).
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR & Compliance:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business strategy and foster a positive high-performance culture.
- Partner closely with HR COEs and other HRBPs across the organization to develop and drive support of ongoing HR transformation.
- Ensure strict compliance with all local state and federal Mexican labor laws and regulations including those related to working hours social security profit sharing (PTU) and new teleworking requirements.
- Maintain accurate personnel records manage HR databases and provide decision support to management through HR metrics and reports.
- Assist with labor-related audits under Mexicos Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS).
Talent Management & Acquisition:
- Oversee the entire recruitment and selection process developing effective strategies to attract and retain top talent in the competitive tech market.
- Partner with department leaders to identify current and future talent/knowledge gaps and implement targeted training and development programs to fill those gaps.
- Manage the performance appraisal system that drives high performance and facilitates ongoing feedback and career development.
- Coordinate the administration of new employee onboarding and orientation processes.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Administer and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs including health insurance life insurance and statutory benefits such as vacation premiums and Christmas bonuses.
- Participate in compensation surveys and ensure market competitiveness to attract talent.
Employee Relations & Engagement:
- Act as a liaison between employees and management addressing demands grievances or other issues.
- Nurture a positive working environment and implement strategies for enhanced employee satisfaction morale and retention.
- Oversee disciplinary actions conflict resolution and termination procedures ensuring fairness and legal compliance.
- Promote diversity equity and inclusion initiatives within the workplace.
Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of Mexican labor law (Federal Labor Law) and HR best practices is essential.
- Strong working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including talent acquisition compensation and performance management.
- Familiarity with HR software systems/databases (e.g. Workday SAP) and data analytics for decision-making.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal active listening negotiation and problem-solving skills. Ability to architect strategy and manage relationships at all levels of the company.
Qualifications :
- Education: Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field; a Masters degree or HR certification (e.g. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) is preferred.
- Experience: Proven working experience as an HR Manager or HR executive preferably 5-10 years with experience in a technology or product development environment. Experience in manufacturing or maquiladora environments is also valuable due to the compliance focus in Mexico.
- Language: Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) in both written and verbal communication is required to effectively communicate with diverse teams and potential international stakeholders.
