Position Overview
The HR Generalist supports the daily operations of the Human Resources department including employee relations payroll and timekeeping processes benefits and leave administration compliance and policy enforcement. This role is critical in ensuring a consistent high-quality employee experience and strong HR support for plant operations.
What Youll Do
Employee Relations & Compliance
Assist in formal investigations of employee complaints; recommend appropriate resolutions and escalate to HR management when needed.
Conduct and track corrective action reviews.
Conduct timely exit interviews and prepare periodic trend analyses for leadership.
Maintain compliance with all federal state and local employment laws and regulations as well as company policies and best practices.
HR Operations & Administration
File documents accurately and maintain employee records.
Support employees with payroll questions or concerns.
Process payroll-related actions including rate changes position changes and terminations.
Conduct HR metrics reporting and provide insights for leadership.
Evaluate and update policies and procedures as needed.
HR Strategy & Business Partnership
Support execution of the HR strategic plan in alignment with the business unit and corporate objectives.
Partner with plant leadership to understand operational needs and develop HR initiatives that support business goals.
Collaborate with the HRBP Lead on employee engagement initiatives.
Talent & Onboarding
Support recruiting and interviewing processes.
Own the full onboarding experience to ensure a smooth and engaging transition for new employees.
Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Solid understanding of basic employment laws and HR practices.
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field required.
Minimum of 3 years of human resources experience preferred.
Work Environment
This position is on-site at our Williamsport PA manufacturing facility.
Frequent presence on the production floor is required to build relationships and stay connected to operations.
Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively in a high-volume fast-paced environment while responding professionally to unexpected issues.
Role requires extended periods of sitting or standing computer use and occasional lifting of 510 pounds.
Work occurs in an industrial setting with exposure to noise machinery and variable temperatures.
Standard PPE is required when entering production areas including ear plugs gloves safety glasses and safetytoe shoes.
