As part of our continued growth we are strengthening our finance function in Germany and are looking for an experienced accounting professional to support our local entities within an international group structure.
Your Role
In this position you will be responsible for the financial accounting and reporting of the German legal entity within the Aberdeen Group. You will ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance withIFRS and German GAAP (HGB)and act as a key contact for internal stakeholders Group Finance and external auditors.
This role combines hands-on accounting responsibility with coordination tasks and offers the opportunity to contribute to process improvements in an international environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and HGB
- Execution and coordination of period-end and year-end closings
- Posting of accruals provisions and deferrals
- Review and analysis of balance sheet and P&L accounts including variance analysis
- Preparation of management reports and ad-hoc financial analyses
General Ledger & Accounting Operations
- Full responsibility for general ledger accounting
- Performance of account reconciliations and documentation
- Monitoring of accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Accounting for bank accounts cash positions and selected financial instruments
- Support of payment processes in compliance with internal controls and approval guidelines
Audit Tax & Compliance
- Main contact person for external auditors and support of statutory and group audits
- Coordination of audit deliverables and documentation
- Support of tax-related matters (corporate income tax trade tax VAT) in cooperation with internal tax teams and external advisors
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies HGB IFRS and regulatory requirements
Projects & Process Improvement
- Participation in finance and accounting projects
- Support the further development and standardization of accounting processes
- Oversight of internal accounting controls and reporting procedures
Your Profile
- Degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in financial accounting audit or advisory (Big 4 experience is an advantage)
- Good knowledge of IFRS and German GAAP (HGB)
- Basic understanding of German tax regulations especially VAT
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Oracle or comparable systems)
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Good German and English skills

- Structured independent and detail-oriented working style
- Hands-on mentality with a strong sense of responsibility
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Professional communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Interest in working in an international finance environment
