Position Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst Business Finance is a key member of the Business Finance team responsible for financial planning performance analysis strategic decision support and investment evaluation for one of the companys Global Business Units.
This role serves as a finance business partner working closely with cross-functional leaders to interpret financial results assess business performance and provide insights that drive profitable growth and operational improvement.
This is a finance-focused role. It is not an IT systems or software development position.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted finance business partner and primary financial resource for the assigned business unit
- Analyze and interpret monthly quarterly and annual financial results providing insight into performance versus plan forecast and prior periods
- Develop and present financial reporting packages and KPI analyses to support leadership decision-making
- Play a key role in annual budgeting long-range planning and forecasting activities
- Perform financial profitability and investment analyses including routine and ad hoc modeling to support tactical and strategic initiatives
- Evaluate capital expenditure and new product development investments including ROI and financial justification
- Provide analytical support for benchmarking business performance incorporating industry trends competitive dynamics and relevant economic factors
- Participate in cross-functional teams offering situational finance leadership on business initiatives and process improvement efforts
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or Economics (advanced degree preferred)
- 35 years of progressive experience in financial analysis FP&A business unit finance or corporate finance
- Prior experience supporting commercial operational or manufacturing-aligned business units preferred
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear business insights
- Highly motivated proactive and self-directed
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence decisions in a matrixed organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to explain complex financial topics to non-financial audiences
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
- Experience using ERP and business intelligence tools for financial analysis and reporting
- Exposure to Infor M3 IBM Cognos Analytics or SAP Business Planning & Consolidation is a plus
- Willingness to travel approximately 15%
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular punctual attendance consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards
