As theInstructoryou will perform a variety of duties associated with instructing or leading youth and teen recreation program which may include work with teen advisory to town council.

Employees at this level provide specialized instruction and program supervision which may include the coordination of schedules and activities in the assigned area.

Anticipated Work Schedule:Part-time to include nights and weekends as aregenerally scheduledon weekends evenings and school in-service days.

  • Priority will be given to candidates with the ability to work school days off (upcoming Spring Break March 16-20th)

  • Schedule may vary depending on program specific needs

Part-Time Hourly

2026 Hiring Range:

$21.07hr- $23.55hr

2026 Full Range:

$19.83/hr- $24.79/hr

Duties and Responsibilities

General Duties

  • Performs a variety of duties associated with instructing or leading recreation programs for teens that may include but is not limited tosession-basedactivities classes day tripsspecial events volunteer opportunities outdoor recreation advisory committee etc.
  • Provides a safe effective and supportive learning environment for diverse participants with varying skill levels.
  • Stays abreast of latest trends and techniques in areas of expertise. Evaluates class effectiveness and recommends new classes or techniques.
  • Plans curriculum and conducts individualized or group instruction in areas of expertise.
  • Ensures participants are performing activities correctly and safely.
  • Uses knowledge andexpertisetomodifyactivities for various participant skill levels.
  • Sets up and takes downrequiredprogram equipment.
  • May drive Town-owned vehicles to and from destinations while transporting passengers. Operates assigned motor vehicles safely and obeys all applicable traffic laws.
  • Ensure vehicle is ready for use including but not limited to obtaining keys filling with gas and cleaning vehicle/inspecting upon return.
  • Ensure passengers adhere to the correct usage of vehicle safety equipment.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintains program related records and reports includingaccurateclass attendance records.
  • Provides exceptional guest service to all participants. Responds to information requestscommentsand complaints from participants.
  • Maintains frequent communications with other staff within the Community Center and Division and reports any issues or concerns with inventory facility conditionspoliciesand incidents to supervisory staff as needed.
  • Ensures the safety of guests and program participants by enforcing all rules and policies with staff and guests.
  • Attends andparticipatesin staff meetings and trainings.
  • May be considered as a subject expert for area of specialization and may train other staff on specific knowledge.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GEDrequired.
  • To be driving eligible must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • One-year customer service recreation or related experience preferred.

A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

  • Ability to obtain CPR First Aid and AED certification within 3 months of hire
  • Valid vehicle operators license and satisfactory driving record
