Position Summary:
A Public School District is seeking a dedicated and student-focused Elementary Special Education Teacher to support students in grades 16. The ideal candidate is passionate about inclusive education skilled in differentiated instruction and committed to helping all students reach their full potential in a nurturing learning environment.Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality special education instruction aligned with NYS learning standards
- Develop implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers service providers and families to support student success
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic social and emotional needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with NYS and federal special education regulations
- Foster a positive inclusive classroom culture that promotes student confidence and growth
- Participate in team meetings professional development and school initiatives
Qualifications:
- New York State Special Education Teacher Certification (Grades 16) Required
- Strong knowledge of special education best practices and instructional strategies
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication organization and classroom management skills
- Experience working in an elementary special education setting (Preferred)
- Familiarity with inclusive classroom models and differentiated instruction (Preferred)
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and student advocacy (Preferred)
