Job Description Summary
This role is responsible for leading Strategic Sourcing and Commercial Contracting activities across all aspects of GE Vernovas IT Category Management for the Network & Telecom commodities.This role requires strategic ownership of all-encompassing category spend developing strategies to reduce total cost of ownership including vendor management demand management and governance / compliance to achieve initial TCO reduction and ongoing year-over-year improvements utilizing an understanding of industry trends to inform the decision-making process. This role will work with IT Sourcing leadership to set strategy coordinate sourcing efforts policy and execute initiatives.
This role will also involve partnering with GE Vernova functional stakeholders in IT Finance Legal Business Sourcing Vendor Management Operations Supply-Chain and other functions to drive TCO reduction while delivering excellent service levels to the organization.
Job Description
Responsibilities (What you will do):
Oversee development and execution of strategies through the sourcing process for the specific category including strategy market analysis commercial contract creation & management negotiation process (RFXs) supplier selection and creation and buy channel management
Work with Vendor Management Office to help solve problems monitor strategy implementation to ensure benefit realization
Negotiate with dedicated providers according to specific policies to achieve the best contractual conditions while ensuring internal customer satisfaction
Drive value through supplier relationship management
Utilize an understanding of industry trends to inform the decision-making process
Develop expertise within function by growing reputation within organization providing professional and thought leadership influencing policy and ensuring delivery within own function while linking with other functions of the organization
Present business solutions to leaders in functional area
Driving demand management and compliance for IT categories (e.g. number of licenses alternatives number and specs of devices preferred vendor development)
Working closely with IT Requisitioning Process for assigned spend categories
Serve as trusted advisor to multi-functional stakeholder teams to design and implement specific strategic sourcing initiatives to meet business requirements and priorities
Driving best practices
Measuring and tracking internal performance within each spend category
Champion and secure TCO reductions for your category
Monitoring strategy implementation to ensure benefit realization
Basic Qualifications (What you will bring):
Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited university
Commercial Contracting Experience: Significant experience leading supplier negotiations and negotiating complex commercial terms and conditions with proven expertise in contract drafting review and interpretation a solid understanding of business law fundamentals and prime contract commercial experience in international environments
IT Sourcing Experience: Experience in IT sourcing including hardware software professional services
Skills: Strong analytical negotiation communication and project management skills including spend analytics shouldcost analysis and market research and intelligence with a demonstrated ability to resolve complex commercial and sourcing issues in crossfunctional environments
Desired Qualifications (What will make you stand out):
Education: Legal university degree
Experience: Expertise in sourcing Network and Telecommunications categories.
