AI Tech Lead

Were expanding our team in Houston and are looking for an AI Tech Lead to drive the design and delivery of secure scalable AIenabled platforms. This role sits at the intersection of strong backend and infrastructure foundations and practical productionready AI with a focus on building agentic systems that deliver real operational value.

Youll lead a small engineering team set technical direction and work closely with Product Design and Business stakeholders to turn complex problems into reliable intelligent solutions.

What Youll Do;
Platform & Infrastructure
Design and implement secure scalable AWS infrastructure aligned with enterprise and WellArchitected standards. own backend architecture integrations and system design supported by clear architecture diagrams and documentation.

• Establish and maintain robust data flows and data lineage ensuring traceability and governance across platforms.

• Define and enforce security models access controls and best practices across services.

AI & Agentic Systems
Architect and deliver AIenabled solutions including prompt integration inference pipelines and agentbased frameworks.
Build agentic systems that automate workflows and add measurable value to business operations.

• Guide teams on how to use AI effectively ensuring strong backend and data foundations are in place before scaling AI capabilities.

• Balance experimentation with production readiness reliability and security.

Leadership & Delivery
Lead and mentor a small team of engineers setting technical standards and providing handson guidance.

• Partner with Product to design solutions for business use cases using proven architectural patterns.

• Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders ensuring clarity alignment and shared outcomes.

• Manage backlog Agile ceremonies and sprint planning to ensure consistent highquality delivery.

• Serve as a Platform and AI Subject Matter Expert (SME) promoting reuse consistency and longterm scalability.

What Were Looking For

• AWS Expertise: Lambda SQS EventBridge API Gateway DynamoDB Secrets Manager AWS CDK.

• Backend Development: Strong experience with TypeScript () and Python.

• Workflow Orchestration: Step Functions Orkes/Conductor or similar orchestration frameworks.

• Integrations & Security: OAuth2 authentication flows API security and securitybydesign principles.

• Databases: Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

• CI/CD: GitHub Actions AWS CodePipeline.

• Frontend Awareness: Working knowledge of React or Angular.
