Essential Criteria

• Good written and oral communication skills at GCSE level (or willingness to work towards this).
• Experience of working with students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
• Ability to create a supportive environment and work effectively with individuals or groups from diverse backgrounds.
• Understanding of the diverse needs of students experiencing learning difficulties.
• Ability to work as part of a team or independently with strong organisational skills and a professional attitude.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support to students to remove barriers to learning and encourage active participation.
• Assist students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities including personal care where required.
• Support retention and achievement through tailored interventions.
• Attend planning and monitoring meetings and contribute to student support plans and reviews.
• Liaise with tutors and other staff regarding student needs and complete relevant administration.
• Support access arrangements for exams.
• Undertake mandatory and job-specific training and contribute to departmental reports and plans.
