Job Title: Sr. VCF (VMware Cloud Foundation) Engineer

Location: Remote - US

Employment Type: Contract

Pay Range: $70/hr - $75/hr

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Sr. VCF (VMware Cloud Foundation) Engineer to join our this role you will work alongside a team of engineers on client projects and professional services engagements designing and implementing VMware solutions leading workload migrations and delivering expert-level technical guidance and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with a team of engineers on client projects and ongoing professional services engagements
• Design and implement VMware Cloud Foundation solutions
• Deliver VMware workshops for customers
• Lead customer engagements to identify and manage workload migrations
• Provide post-implementation support and troubleshooting on occasion
• Author professional technical documentation and logical/physical diagrams using Microsoft Visio or equivalent
• Track and enter time spent into required systems on a timely basis
• Lead client-facing conversations and whiteboarding sessions

Required Qualifications:

• 6 years of advanced VMware knowledge and hands-on experience with data center and workload migrations
• 3 years of experience developing workload migration plans
• Strong experience configuring and troubleshooting VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) suite of products
• Proven experience migrating data center workloads within VMware (P2V vMotion HCX etc.)
• Experience designing and implementing complex VMware data center solutions
• Experience with DHCP DNS and general network troubleshooting
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery technologies
• Experience working with multiple data centers and concepts around high availability replication RTO/RPO
• Ability to properly diagram and document working environments
• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
• VCP certification preferred but not required
• Technical certifications strongly desired
• Ability to travel as needed and physically lift and install equipment
• Strong work ethic problem-solving skills and relentless attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects prioritize work and meet timelines
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience with VCF add-ons such as NSX vSAN Aria Operations Aria Automation VMware Live Site Recovery (SRM) and VMware Live Cyber Recovery (VCDR)
• Experience with cloud storage solutions from Microsoft AWS NetApp Pure Dell or others
• Experience with data protection solutions such as Veeam Commvault Rubrik or Cohesity
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
